Roach Approach: Learning

January 26, 2012

111 Days…

Alps

An official countdown until the John V. Roach Honors College sends its fourth group of sophomores-to-be on a three-week excursion through Europe.  Dr. Pitcock will lead the Cultural Routes 4 trip, which will begin in Berlin on May 17 and continue to Munich, Interlaken, Cinque Terra, Florence, and Rome until its conclusion on June 9.

Twelve fellow first-year students–seven females and six males–will explore Europe with me.

On behalf of the group, I send an immense thank you to the JVR Honors College for this incredible CR4 opportunity, for our group’s inaugural meeting, and to the four Cultural Routes alumni who peppered us with CR-wisdom.

After the meeting, we all sloshed through the wet parking lot, jittery with excitement.  We bounced from topic to topic, including flight reservations, what to pack, getting to know the other students, and all of the places and things we anxiously anticipate for our travels through Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.

Flower Power
