One of the perks about Fort Worth is that it draws many famous country artists to perform at Billy Bobs, “The World’s Largest Honky-Tonk.” The Band Perry, Robert Earl Kean, Easton Corbin, and Josh Turner are just a few of the upcoming acts.
As a newfound country music fan, I couldn’t be more thrilled that we have such a popular venue 10 minutes away from campus in the Fort Worth Stockyards. In addition to the great selection of artists that stop by good ole’ Fort Worth, the tickets are very affordable for college students; general admission tickets usually only cost $12-$15.
I went to the Luke Bryan concert, along with what seemed like half of the TCU population. Even amidst the thousands of fans that crowded into the sold out concert venue, I managed to trickle through the masses
of people and secure a spot 100 yards from the right side of the stage. Its great to recognize so many faces in the crowd as you all shout of the lyrics to some of our favorite songs. May I add that Luke Bryan is an incredible performer; he was charismatic and his voice sounded just like it does on the radio (which can’t be said for all artists.) To the crowd’s amusement, he added his unique style and enthusiasm to each song when he sang Bad Romance by Lady Gaga, Someone Like You by Adele and even Sir Mix-A-Lot’s not to be named smash hit.
Coming from out of state, I found that the opportunities to explore a new culture are endless here in Fort Worth. I love putting on a flannel shirt and cowboy boots for a fun night out at a concert with my friends. From BBQ brisket to Luke Bryan concerts, Fort Worth is the place for me.

The concert was so much fun! It’s awesome how many people come through Billy Bob’s, like The Band Perry this week!
