Hometown: Lee’s Summit, MO

Major: Journalism major, Spanish minor

What I want to do with my major: Your guess is as good as mine.  I see myself writing and designing for a national magazine and traveling the world for interviews and stories, but I am exploring my options.

Campus involvement: I am a member of the Frog Aides Class of 2015 and of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Why I chose TCU: Initially, I became attracted to TCU because of the Schieffer School of Journalism.  Then, during my visit, I immediately fell in love.  The campus is gorgeous, the school is a good size for me, the teachers want to know their students, Division I athletics create lots of purple pride, of course the climate is great, and overall, everyone was so welcoming.  I knew I could call this place home.

Why I’m glad I joined the JVR: The community, the people, no question.  My closest friends are members of the Honors College.  It brings together a unique variety of students united in motives of achievement and change.  Call me biased, but Milton Daniel is the best place to live on campus, and taking Honors courses is a special privilege- with professors who want to push you the extra mile while supporting you in that journey.

Favorite place on TCU’s Campus: I love Milton Daniel, I love the study rooms in Scharbauer Hall, and I love laying in the grass by the track after a run and watching the clouds pass.

Favorite JVR memory: I was sitting at an Honors breakfast cramming for my journalism final last semester, and as the table started filling, the conversation started growing.  By the end, I had made three new friends, both freshmen and upperclassmen, and we planned an end-of-finals-week trip to the Kimbell Art Museum.

Coolest TCU or JVR experience: Frog Camp Alpine is one my favorite TCU experiences so far.  It was everything I needed to begin my freshman year: 45 freshman friends plus a handful of upperclassmen mentors, a support system, and so many great memories out in the Colorado wilderness!

Favorite TV show and why: I do not watch much TV but do enjoy some Wheel of Fortune on occasion!

Three unusual things about myself:

I have serious fetishes for chocolate, shoes, famous quotes, and the Brangelina brood.

I have never broken a bone, despite having played sports for 13 years.

One of my favorite things is getting to know someone new and everything about him/her.
