Honors Grants and Awards

Applications will be accepted 2/2/24 - 2/22/24. This scholarship is available only to Honors students studying abroad through a summer TCU Study Abroad Program or TCU Partner Program.

Award Amount: Varies dependent on number of applicants and recipients

Eligibility:

  • Must be an active 1st, 2nd or 3rd year student of the John V. Roach Honors College at the time of application

  • Must be in good academic standing

Award Amount: Varies, up to $7,800

Eligibility:

  • Must be an active 1st, 2nd or 3rd year student of the John V. Roach Honors College at the time of application

  • Must be in good academic standing

Award Amount: Varies, up to $2,500

Eligibility:

  • Current student of the John V. Roach Honors College

  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher

This grant supports Honors students who are completing any research or creative project under the supervision of a TCU faculty mentor.

Award Amount: Dependent on the indicated need of the research/creative project

Eligibility:

  • Must be a current student, in good standing, of the John V. Roach Honors College

  • Must have a supervising faculty mentor for their project

Applications are accepted 2/2/24 thru 3/20/24. The Wassenich Founder’s Medal honors Dr. Paul Wassenich, former TCU professor of Religion, founder and first director of the TCU Honors Program.

Award Amount: 1st Place – $1,000 | 2nd Place – $500

Eligibility:

  • Must be a current student of the John V. Roach Honors College

  • Senior Honors Projects/Theses are not eligible for consideration for the Wassenich Founder’s Medal.

Prestigious Scholarships (Fulbright, Rhodes, Etc.)

TCU prides itself in preparing and supporting you in the application process for prestigious scholarships—which can have a dramatic, life-changing impact on those who receive them.

Tracy Rundstrom, Ph.D., the director of nationally competitive scholarships, is available to assist students in the preparation of applications and the convening of mock interview panels.

 

In partnership with over 140 countries worldwide, the Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers opportunities to passionate students to pursue graduate study, conduct research or teach English abroad.

Each year Gates Cambridge Scholarship program offers c.80 full-cost scholarships to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship supports college sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering. The Goldwater Foundation is helping ensure that the U.S. is producing the number of highly-qualified professionals the Nation needs in these critical fields.

Applications Due: January 22, 2024 (campus deadline)
Matriculated sophomore or junior students pursuing a research career in a natural science, mathematics or engineering are eligible to apply.

Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to fifty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study.

Students graduating in December 2023 or May 2024 are eligible for consideration. Applicants must receive a University endorsement.

The George J. Mitchell Scholarship Program is designed to introduce and connect generations of future American leaders to the island of Ireland. Up to twelve Mitchell Scholars are chosen annually for one academic year of postgraduate study in any discipline offered by institutions of higher learning in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The Rhodes Trust, a British charity established to honor the will and bequest of Cecil J. Rhodes, provides full financial support for Rhodes Scholars to pursue a degree or degrees at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

The Truman Scholarship is the premier graduate fellowship in the United States for those pursuing careers as public service leaders.
