This year’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award was presented to Frederick W. Gooding Jr., Dr. Ronald E. Moore Honors Professor in Humanities, for extensive work examining DEI-related issues and creating a space in the classroom for students to openly explore these topics. He also was the inaugural chair of TCU’s Race & Reconciliation Initiative, a study of TCU’s history related to race.

This May, the John V. Roach Honors College held its semesterly Laureate Ceremony in the Ed Landreth Auditorium. Honors students, faculty, staff and guests gathered to celebrate the students’ notable achievements.

The "Nature of Giving" course was founded after a local philanthropist wanted to teach students the ethics of philanthropy by giving them a first-hand opportunity to experience the difficulty of giving well.

To celebrate TCU’s Sesquicentennial, the university is highlighting notable Horned Frog leaders with a series of hand-painted murals in major cities across the United States. The next mural unveiled in Chicago, Illinois celebrates two Honors College Laureates who are leading on as empathetic health care leaders.

This spring, seniors in the John V. Roach Honors College presented their Departmental Honors theses at their college- and school-level research and creative project symposiums.

For over 60 years, Honors students have recognized an outstanding faculty member as Honors Professor of the Year, which is considered to be one of the highest honors bestowed upon a faculty member at TCU. Students chose Zackary Hawley, Ph.D., associate professor of economics, as the 2023 Professor of the Year.

Students, faculty and staff from across campus gathered at the Brown-Lupton University Union on April 27, 2023 for the annual Honors College Banquet. The college celebrated 60 years of Honors at TCU and the accomplishments of the Honors College community. Awards commended students and faculty on their scholarship, integrity and creativity.
